I mentioned a movie in which hundreds of brides chased only one groom last Tuesday~~~~

It is "The Bachelor", a film in 1999

Why is it that the bride is always chasing the groom? In this scene its the sheer number of women and their extravagant attire which make it entertaining. Certainly the comedic effect would be greatly reduced if the male and female roles were switched. Would there be a way to make an equally hilarious scene in which multiple grooms chased one bride?
